History

Formerly the Seacrest Hotel & Delray Beach Marriott

History

In the sunny town of Delray Beach, Florida, in Palm Beach County, the landmark Seacrest Hotel was the premier oceanfront resort in Delray Beach. In the 1980s, the Seacrest was re-opened as the Delray Beach Marriott, which offered an unparalleled oceanfront experience on Florida’s East Coast for decades. Situated between the busier towns of Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale, but with the same pristine coastline, Delray Beach became a haven for Florida travelers looking for a more-relaxed, yet vibrant destination.

The chic, oceanfront escape steps from the Atlantic Ocean, presented travelers the perfect mix of style and sophistication with a laid back beachfront atmosphere. Guests returned year after year to experience the warmth and hospitality of the Delray Beach Marriott, the miles of pristine beachfront, and the boutique shopping, unique dining experiences, and innovative art galleries, on the town’s always growing Atlantic Avenue.

The Delray Beach Marriott offered a winter haven for Northerners to escape from the cold, and it became a home away from home, helping grow Delray Beach into the resort destination it is today, rated by Coastal Living in 2015 as one of “America’s Happiest Seaside Towns.”

The excellence continues in Delray Beach, and the new Opal Grand Oceanfront Resort & Spa will continue the tradition of providing travelers every luxury during their Florida Beach getaway. Along with the comforts from the past will come a whole new resort experience that includes innovative amenities, curated resort offerings, and a revitalization of the property and guest accommodations.
